We want to give a special APPLAUSE to the Lock Haven Rotary Club for its recent granting of some $12,000 in donations to various organizations serving Clinton County.
Service clubs in our area work hard to raise money, but also work very hard to recruit and sustain membership.
Ask any service group locally and you'll find they are on the lookout for new members..

Yet, the Rotary Club, like many other clubs here, has been a dependable, hard working organization of people dedicated to improving their community.
Folks, $12,000 is no chump change.
Sponsorships of the club's annual Great Island Triathlon help make it possible.
We congratulate the Rotary Club for hosting and running this great event.
This year was the 15th annual!
The triathlon attracts competitors from throughout the region and nearby states.
It brings recognition to Lock Haven and Clinton County as a mecca for outdoor recreation.
It enhances the value of our beautiful waterfront along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River -- unique in so many ways.

The organization's mission is to bridge cultures and continents, champion peace, fight illiteracy and poverty, help people get access to clean water and sanitation and fight disease.
