We all do better, when we all do better

This is a statement that can be found in large bold words at The Borgen Project’s website under their “Global Poverty and U.S. Jobs” page. We live in a area that struggles economically and with unemployment. It is no secret the days of Pennsylvania being filled with coal mine towns are gone, and leaves many towns in rural areas struggling with jobs.
I am writing to encourage you fellow Pennsylvanians to contact our representatives such as Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey to address global poverty as a nation, to create jobs for us Americans.
The data speaks for itself! The countries we provide aid to, such as Indonesia, Mexico, South Korea, Brazil and many more, end up becoming the biggest consumers of American made goods.
This means the more aid we give, the more exports the United States will have. Companies need to be able to have the manpower to keep up with increases in demands for their goods, which ultimately leads to more jobs being created for folks like us.
If our representatives like Sens. Casey and Toomey support items such as increasing the International Affairs Budget, we will seem a big return on our investments.
A example is the European Union, where we have provided $12.7 billion in aid, but have seen the same EU consume $318 billion in US exports.
This is a return of 2403.94% of our investment.
