A discouraging kick-off

I decided to renew my subscription for now, but I was sorely tempted to drop it.
On Lock Haven University’s opening day you decided to run an opinion piece by Creators Syndicated columnist John Stossel entitled “College Rip Off.”
I was born in Lock Haven and have been a Lock Haven University faculty member for 25 years, and this past year has been the most difficult in my career.
We are struggling to deal with the changes imposed by integration and to continue to provide a quality education at a reasonable cost to our students.
We don’t need such a discouraging kick-off to the semester from our hometown newspaper.
I’m wondering if you’ve considered the economic (and cultural) impact of LHU on Lock Haven.
