My 90th birthday celebration with the family was planned for Saturday, Nov. 11, at 5 p.m. at the Sunset Restaurant near Pleasant Gap. My son-in-law and daughter picked me up at 4:40 p.m. since I am no longer able to drive. We arrived at the restaurant and the meal was to be for our family of 12. We parked in the back of the restaurant and went inside.
This is when the shock came. There, shouting "Surprise," were many members of the passion play, "Christ Lives," that we presented for 42 years in many churches and even some schools. Five members of the cast were in the traveling passion play for the entire 42 years and were present for the delicious meal and fellowship.
First, I want to thank God for the 42 years that He gave us with the play and for the dedicated cast who took part in the play. Many in different casts were in the "Christ Lives" play for over 20 years. Now who but God and the great casts could do something like that, along with my wonderful family who helped all those years.
So again, I thank God, my family and a group of people who put God first to tell about Christ and His redeeming love for us.
In a list of 1 to 10, where does Christ rate in your life? I think we had better start making Christ first and remember whose birthday we soon will be celebrating -- Christ's -- and what He did for you and me!
