In a recent letter, a writer cited his research using AI as a basis for arguing that Democrats unfairly call Donald Trump heartless, just because six of his businesses went bankrupt. The writer told us: "Do your own research," and you'll find out for yourself. Ask an AI site if Democrats do indeed criticize Donald Trump as being heartless just for going bankrupt. So, docile reader that I am, I did.
I anticipated AI's answer before I read it. The AI response was: "The fact that Trump did not pay thousands of his creditors when his six casinos went bankrupt is cited as proof of his heartlessness by Democrats. They consider that to be how other critics interpret Trump's actions during those bankruptcies." Democrats don't think Trump was heartless because he went bankrupt." They do so because he is a frolicking deadbeat.
To cite an AI engine about Trump's bankruptcies: "Thousands of creditors were not fully compensated during Trump's casinos bankruptcies. Workers often found themselves unpaid for hours worked. Vendors who supplied goods and services to Trump's casinos were left unpaid for outstanding invoices, thousands of creditors--including banks, suppliers, employees--were left unpaid or partially paid across all six bankruptcies."
When I asked AI: "Is it true that Donald Trump's business have a long history of not paying creditors and customers what they owe them?" I got this conclusion: "it is true that Donald Trump's businesses have a long history of not paying creditors and customers what they owe them." Is that heartless? You judge.
Incredibly, the writer argues that because only 1.2% of Trump's businesses went bankrupt, 98.8% of his businesses were a success.. So I again followed Mr. Seasholtz's directive "Do your own research." I asked an AI engine: "What percent of Donald Trump's businesses were financially successful? One AI source said 31.82% and another source said about 40%. Oh, and by the way, Rickie Henderson had a 75% success rate at stealing bases and Trump is nowhere close to being in his league. The measure of a business's success cannot be defined by whether it has never gone bankrupt any more than a base stealer's success rate at stealing bases can be measured by how many times he got thrown out of the ballgame. A kid with a lemonade stand or toddler playing Tee Ball does not need an AI engine to to know that.
Come on gang. There are countless examples of Trump's heartlessness that go well beyond his cruel stiffing of stiffed creditors and scammed customers. During bankruptcies. Just ask this very partial list of people: offended wounded soldiers, prisoners of war, the families of the buried in Normandy, Gold Star families, the heroic January 6 Capitol police, mocked disabled individuals, dehumanized immigrants, demeaned elected officials who support him, women including his his wives, the McCain, Cruz, Rubio, Merkel families and African Americans, Mexicans, Native Americans, disrespected women including his wives, reporters, and…and…and..see how long you can go with this list.
The quality of AI output is determined by the quality of the input just as it is with any other kind of search engine or with the human mind. When you search AI engines with false assumptions, inaccurate data, biased, cherry picked, leading questions, inapplicable analogies and inadequate context, the resulting outputs tend to be false, misleading or irrelevant. Manipulators of AI not only give artificial intelligence a bad name. They give themselves one too. I hope you've forgotten the writer's name. I intentionally did not mention it with the hope you would. I have a feeling he's smarter than his letter's defense of Trump. He's just in love.
