Americans, I know who you are. You give your life, time and energy to your family, your work and your community. As best you can, you live your life seriously and sensibly. You know that voting for our leadership is a responsibility of your citizenship. You know that it is important that the leaders you vote for reflect the common good and your personal values.
Today I am asking you to think about and then write (to yourself) what you want for your country. What are your goals for your country? What is the best way to achieve them? And who are the people most capable of that leadership?
This writing is for you alone. No one ever has to see it. No one is ever going to judge what you say or how you say it.
Writing for America will help you, and help all of us.
What makes America America?
What does America mean to me?
What do I want for our country?
What do I think is our common good?
How can we achieve it?
In my work, job or business do I find that most people are honest and trustworthy?
When I look around my community, what do I see?
