As an American with the pre-existing condition of Type 1 diabetes, I will be voting for Kamala Harris and all the Democrats down ballot. I know that the Affordable Care Act, which prevents insurers from discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions like mine, will be safe in the hands of Democrats.
For the past eight years, Donald Trump has promised Americans that he would repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with something much better, something that is always just weeks away from being announced. Over 400 weeks have now passed and Donald Trump still hasn't shown us what that plan is, but that hasn't stopped him and Congressional Republicans from trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
My life depends on insulin. If I were excluded from health insurance because of my pre-existing condition, paying out of pocket for this medication would be a game-changer. If you or a loved one have a pre-existing condition, please remember how important the Affordable Care Act has been, and vote for the Democratic candidates who vow to expand it, not the Republican ones who work relentlessly to repeal it.
