I don't know about you, but I've had enough of these attacks questioning McCormick's Pennsylvania roots.
He's a 7th-generation Pennsylvanian who was born in Washington County and grew up in Bloomsburg. He spent his youth playing football and wrestling, trimming Christmas trees and delivering newspapers. His prowess on the wrestling mat took him to the U.S. Military Academy, after which he served our country honorably in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper.
After the Army and being deployed during the first Gulf War, Dave returned to Pittsburgh. He ran a successful tech start-up and raised three of his children there. Yes, McCormick spent some time out of the commonwealth, but should we really be so cynical?
The idea that we should criticize military service, successfully achieving the American Dream, or heaven forbid visiting your daughter who lives with her mother while she finishes high school is absurd.
Ask yourself this: if Dave gave his life while serving our country in Iraq, where would he be buried? Pennsylvania. If that doesn't make you a Pennsylvanian, I don't know what does.
Dave is a Pennsylvanian through and through, and more importantly, the policies he put forward prove he understands the real challenges facing working families. He'd pledged to cut back on the radical federal spending that created inflation, secure our southern border, stand with law enforcement, and unleash Pennsylvania energy.
His opponent, Bob Casey, hasn't just done nothing in Washington -- he's actively fought against each of these priorities. I'd encourage my fellow Pennsylvanians to focus on what really matters this November.
