Casey fights for disabled persons

I strongly support Senator Bob Casey and encourage my fellow Pennsylvanians to vote for him in the upcoming election. Senator Casey has consistently worked to ensure that individuals with disabilities are treated with dignity and respect, particularly regarding fair compensation for their work.

The Department of Labor estimates that 100,000 people in the United States are paid a subminimum wage. A 2020 US Commission on Civil Rights report found that in 2017-2018, the average wage of a person with a disability working under such certificates was only $3.34 per hour--less than half of the federal minimum wage. All workers need to receive real pay for real jobs.

Senator Casey has advocated for eliminating subminimum wages for workers with disabilities. He has championed legislation that aims to end this discriminatory practice to ensure that all workers, regardless of their abilities, receive fair pay for their contributions. This is not just a matter of economic justice, but also a fundamental issue of human rights and equality.

Washington, D.C. needs leaders who advocate for issues that don't always get national attention. Voters should not overlook how important this senate race is. A vote for Senator Bob Casey means continuing to advance the cause of fair wages, and ensure that individuals with disabilities have the opportunities they deserve.
