Protect Our Healthcare

All the PA House Democrats and a majority of Republicans voted to pass legislation protecting key provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). They believe we must safeguard healthcare at the state level. Why? They know a Trump Administration would overturn this important law. Unfortunately, our local representatives David Rowe (R-85) and Stephanie Borowicz (R-76) voted "No" on all three bills.

Three bills have been passed by the House and now move to the Senate. HR 2562 would prohibit annual or life-time monetary limits on maternity care, prescription drugs, emergency services and surgery. HR 2563 would allow children up to age 26 to remain covered under their parents' health insurance. HR 2564 would prevent insurers from excluding or denying coverage to people based on pre-existing conditions like high-blood pressure or asthma.

The ACA makes coverage available to an estimated 4.5 million Pennsylvanians with pre-existing conditions, according to Rep. Jim Haddock, who introduced HR 2564.

Vice President Harris also knows that healthcare is an economic issue for most families. She proposes to cap out-of-pocket drug costs for everyone at $2,000 per year and insulin copays at $35 per month, extend enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium support and speed up Medicare drug price negotiation.

Think about what's at stake for your health and budget. Vote for Harris and Democrats who will work to protect healthcare coverage for you and your family.
