Several decades ago when the talk was about "dumbed-down America," I told my kids this is getting you ready to live in a third-world country, but I never thought there could be another Hitler -- this time in our country. I agree with the Republican Senator who recently said everyone should be reading the history from the 1930s and 1940s. I have been living in this world heading toward 95 years and I remember the 1930s and 1940s very well. I remember the horror that took place when Hitler gained power with his dynamic speeches that rallied a group of followers who eventually armed themselves.
He went on to control what was taught in schools, and he took control of the news media. As I remember the many true patriots who fought and died to preserve our freedoms, it terrifies me to think there are people willing to take those freedoms from their precious children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
To my fellow Evangelicals: I cannot support a man whose family members say he never went to church and his only Bible was Hitler's manifesto, a man who professes to be pro-life and yet he talks about executing his enemies, a man who has not lived by the religious principles I was taught, and basically a man who does not care about anyone but himself. Should he get the power he wants, he will continue to divide the country.
I pray that this boastful, name-calling, childish man with psychopathic tendencies will never represent me nor our country as president.
