Calm before the storm

I don't know about you, but since the election of DJT, I feel an eerie calmness in the air, a kind of placidity. It's there in public places, grocery stores, gas stations. Folks are acting more polite to each other too. I guess it could be a good sign, that folks feel our Sacred Republic rests in safe hands.

I'm not sure what to think or feel. God, I just wish we weren't so smitten by one mightily flawed individual. History has shown us that democracies and republics are fragile things, giving way to autocrats at the drop of a hat and always with fanfare.

Let's hope our Constitution weathers the storm.
