I recently found out that a B&B in a town in Penns Valley has been under attack for being owned by a gay couple. Their B&B is beautiful -- they invested a lot of money to make it stand out. They have great service and many from the area love their food and services.
Sadly, a "few degenerates" that are racist have made threats and caused them nothing but problems.
Back 60 years ago, when I was a kid in Penns Valley, they thought Catholics were strange.
Then, the Amish moved in and they hated them. There were no minorities living in the area, except at Penn State. The people would work at the college and then talk badly about the students from other countries.
Now, the few people that moved into Penns Valley that are minorities or gay are mistreated by a majority of people. Why hasn't Penns Valley, as a whole, moved on and accepted others? People should be fighting for this B&B and for the rights of the few minorities that live there.
They should get to know the people first-hand before they speak about them or judge them.
Some have changed, but many have not! People, the world is changing, and you need to also. I learned in combat in Vietnam that "We All Bleed Red." The color of a person's skin does not make us any different!
Penns Valley, it is time to move out of the dark ages!
