Standing for nothing

Caroline Machiraju

Camp Hill, Pa.

If we didn’t know what Democrats stand for prior to last Tuesday, we know now. Literally and figuratively, they stand for… nothing.

They couldn’t acknowledge or applaud any of the positive results that have come from President Donald J. Trump’s first 50 days in office. To name just a few: Demanding respect from other countries who have exploited our generosity, our economic strength; recouping that exploitation via fair (mutual) tariffs. Progress in securing our treasury, and reducing our debt, by eliminating fraud, complements of DOGE. Deflating the government bureaucracy bloat, and identifying excessive aid funds going to indefensible programs, like transgender comic books in Peru. Protecting women in the sports arenas with the transgender sports ban — and in their communities, by securing the border overnight; and recognizing its defenders, including a 12-year-old aspiring policeman, who beat brain cancer odds.

The Democrats sat there and scowled while the room burst into emotional applause for this upstanding young man.

It’s no wonder so many are jumping ship; not wanting to identify with this sore-loser and bent-on-losing (at-the-same-time) attitude! The leader-less Democrat party is struggling to hold onto a base that is getting smaller and smaller each day. Their resistance of common sense values is costing them the common man — and woman! That’s the base the Democrats are cowering to and it’s going to cost them in apocalyptic ways!

What a time to be alive! When Trump said: “I was saved by God to make America great again; I believe that,” I believe it, too; and I believe that’s who he’s standing for. I know that’s who I’m standing for. But once again: who are the Democrats standing for? You have to wonder.
