In a recent opening monologue, Seth Meyers gave a good summary of why Trump's national poll ratings after the first 100 days of his second term in 2025 are lower than the previous low for any other president's first 100 days… his own first 100 days in 2021.
According to Meyers, President Trump has busied himself by:
-- threatening judges and detaining students for their political opinions
-- defying Supreme Court orders
-- dismantling Social Security
-- eliminating food safety inspections
-- cutting cancer research
-- threatening Meals on Wheels and Head Start
-- allowing measles to spread unchecked
-- ordering investigation of his political opponents
-- unleashing total chaos at the Pentagon
-- sparking widespread market chaos
-- undermining the world's confidence in the U.S. financial leadership
-- inviting bribes through his personal meme coin.
Meyers left it to others to complete the list with items like: decimating all of our 401k's and deporting a four-year-old American child with stage 4 cancer without her medications.
On the other hand, I'm sure Trump supporters will say that during the first 100 days of his second term he accomplished positive outcomes through the use of legal and moral means.
It would be nice to see a letter outlining such legal and morally achieved results of President Trump's first 100 days. I can't think of any… that are both legal and moral, that is. Fill us in.
