Being nice to enemies

Someone once said to be nice to your enemies, it’ll drive them crazy. There’s a lot of that going on between President Trump and soon to be former Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. It started with Greene’s surprisingly friendly appearance on Bill Maher’s “Real Time” show recently. Just when I thought I was dreaming, she announced her resignation from Congress.

Trump responded calling her Marjorie “Traitor” Greene. Later, in typical Trump fashion, he walked back his remarks calling her a “nice lady”.

Many were shocked, but why? Such dysfunction has become the norm since Trump’s first term, and during the Biden years. Even then, Trump’s undercurrent of media manipulation undermined everyone’s attention. Have you noticed that you hardly hear the term “New normal” anymore? When different forms of chaos surface each week, it’s no longer new or normal.

Former Wyoming Senator Liz Cheney took a similar stand in 2022 during the January 6th Select Committee hearings. She knew standing up to Trump would cost her a reelection bid. I’m not quite ready to weigh Rep. Greene on the same nobility scale as Cheney. I need more proof, but so far, I like what I’m hearing. I hope whatever got into Marjorie Taylor Greene is contagious.

Starting at $3.69/week.
