ICE and Immigration

Let’s look at the two Republican strongholds, Florida and Texas, then some of the Democrat sanctuary states, and Democrat immigration thrusts.
Florida is a major hub for federal immigration enforcement with high ICE activity. A major “joint operation” across the state called “Operation Tidal Wave” was the largest joint operation in ICE history. It resulted in 10,000 arrests and removals and involved state law enforcement.
Pew Research Center in 2023 stated 1.2M illegal aliens reside in Florida. ICE is also actively operating throughout Texas. Another “joint operation” called “Secure Communities” program was activated in all counties in Jan 25. As a result, in 1 in 4 ICE arrests “nationwide” occurs in Texas who has 1.6M undocumented immigrants. No one hurt, no riots, quiet success due to teamwork. Of course, the press doesn’t cover this!
Center for Immigration Studies, Apr. 9, 2025 — Newly obtained ICE records reveal the sanctuary jurisdictions that have frequently failed to allow ICE to take custody of deportable aliens who were jailed in those locations. These Democrat sanctuaries released over 25,000 criminal detainees into the community from Oct. 2022 to Feb. 2025 rather than turn them over to ICE. (Calif. 13,025, Ill. 2,946, Va. 1,601, Mass. 1,324, Conn. 1,153, N.Y. 873, Minn. 823, N.C. 508, PA 486, Md. 384, Colo. 295 and the list goes on.) Of the 25,000 criminals released back into our communities, 72 were murderers. A stark difference from the Republican states.
Remember Democrats funded ICE from 2003 to 2016 when they held the presidency, denounced ICE from 2017 to 2019 under Trump, again funded ICE in 2020 and broke all funding records for ICE from 2021 to 2023 under Biden and denounced ICE again in 2024 and 2025 under Trump. Once again, the Democrats want to defund or abolish ICE. Democrats support ICE when its advantageous to them.
The bipartisan 2013 immigration bill granted “amnesty” to undocumented immigrants without sufficient border security guarantees. The path to citizenship was too lenient and rewarded illegal behavior. The bipartisan 2024 immigration bill was insufficient to secure the border, contained too many loopholes and “normalized” high levels of illegal immigration rather than stop it. In 2025 Trump declared the border a national emergency to halt the “invasion” at the southern border, reinstated “Remain in Mexico” policy, expanded travel bans to 19 countries, deployed the military for enforcement and drastically reduced illegal crossings. Democrats thwarted in all three cases involving their new voter base, illegals.
Bottom line over 670,000 illegal immigrants were removed in 2025, 348,000 (52%) had criminal convictions or pending charges. Trump is making America safe for us, for our children.
