Lock Haven
The weekend of May 30-31, the People's United Methodist Church of Farrandsville had the pleasure of serving breakfast to the Durty Dabber Cycle Club at the Castanea picnic grounds. This annual event is one of our church's biggest fundraisers, and we are incredibly grateful to the club for once again allowing us the opportunity to serve them.
A special thank you goes to Lisa Bolopue and Lana Sachetti for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the weekend.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the local businesses that generously donated food and gift cards to help offset the church's expenses. Thank you to Save-A-Lot, Weis Markets in both Lock Haven and Mill Hall, Walmart and Giant in Williamsport. We would also like to thank Greg and Randy from Stroehman's for their assistance in ordering the muffins and making delivery to Lock Haven so easy.
We were also blessed with support from our sister churches in Dunnstown and Swissdale. Thank you to Eleanor and Herb Bingman and Carol and Joe Ordway for their delicious brownies and fudge. A special thanks to Patty Anderson for her wonderful breakfast egg casserole and homemade cookies, and to Marie Shoemaker for her delicious fudge. We also want to recognize the ladies from Woolrich who faithfully provide an assortment of baked goods each year. Thank you to Sally and Bill Bair for organizing and delivering those treats. We also appreciate Diane Miller for her incredible peanut butter fudge.
Monetary donations are always a tremendous blessing, and we would like to sincerely thank Rebecca Cline, Sue Heltman, Joy Baney and Truman and Vickie Hibbler for their generous support.
This event simply would not be possible without our amazing volunteers who spent countless hours setting up, cooking, serving and cleaning. A heartfelt thank you goes to Ed Cox, John Shoemaker and his daughter, Denise, from Swissdale. John faithfully kept four coffee pots brewing throughout the mornings to ensure no one went without a fresh cup. Thank you to Vickie Hibbler, Randy and Andy McDermit, Betty Barton, Marvel Myers (who prepared four incredible french toast casseroles), Joy Baney and Paisley for handling the donations and money, Pastor Jack Hocker for all of his help and Joann Zettle for doing such a wonderful job organizing and managing breakfast orders.
As we've said before -- and will happily say again -- the riders of the Durty Dabbers Cycle Club are an absolute joy to serve. They are always patient, kind and appreciative, even when the breakfast lines seem endless. It is always wonderful to see so many familiar faces return year after year. We are especially grateful for your generosity and the extra donations placed in our donation jar.
Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to make this year's fundraiser a success. We truly appreciate your kindness, generosity and willingness to serve.
