I would like to express my support for Ray Bilger as our next Representative for the 15th Congressional District.
I first met Ray about a year ago, not long after he expressed his interest to run for the position. He immediately impressed me with his communication skills while addressing people he's never met and groups he had never spoken to. His skills as a communicator no doubt stem from his fluency in multiple foreign languages, all learned as a part of his previous career working for the U.S. Air Force and the State Department. His ability to communicate one-on-one no doubt is also a result of his confidence in what he talks about and his concern that people are treated as unique individuals who deserve an intelligent conversation, especially on national and international topics.
Despite requests to hold a formal debate with our current rep, Mr. Thompson has declined to do so. I wonder why? Is he uncomfortable debating his challenger? Is it because of his multiple previous elections where he won by fairly large margins, and he feels as if he's entitled to ignore any challengers? Or does he just shy away from addressing his constituents?
Ray Bilger is clearly comfortable talking with the voters of PA-15, Democrats, Republicans, Independents and all other folks of ANY political persuasion. It's clear that there needs to be a change in Washington this cycle. You can help with that change by voting for Ray Bilger for PA-15. Veteran. Public servant for his entire adult life. Intelligent. Principled. Moderate. Ray can hit the ground running on his first day in office.
