Headed by CMHS Club Advisor Keith Killinger, select students at Central Mountain will participate in the Pennsylvania State High School Clay Target League from Feb. 12 to May 3.

The KCSD board officially approved the expansion of the club in a meeting in November.

Liberty Sportsmen Club is set to be the the host of the newly launched club. The LSC is aiding the CMHS club by offering both discounts and the use of its facility.

The summary of the club, pitched at the board meeting this past November, is stated below.

“Student-athletes in grades 9 through 12 represent their high school by competing in weekly trap shooting at their local shooting range. Scores are submitted online and compared against other high school trap teams within their conference. The PASHSCTL provides a safe, comfortable, and positive team environment that enhances a student athlete’s character and personal growth through safe, educational, and socially acceptable involvement in shooting sports.”

Also assisting in the leadership of the club is head coach Lori Gunsallus and assistant coach Gary Proctor.
