Local roundup: Noah Williamson helps propel BEA baseball to a win

Bald Eagle Area defeated Penns Valley in baseball, 3-1, Friday afternoon. Noah Williamson earned the win by striking out 10 and yielding just two hits. He also went 2 for 3.

Wyatt McClain had an RBI single and Ryan Kresovich had an RBI single.

St. John Neumann defeated Sugar Valley, 24-10.

The Golden Knights jumped out to a three-run lead after the first inning and never relented the lead. JerVal Weeks-Shuler, Jeff Hamilton and Naseer Dymeck all had two hits and Weeks-Shuler and Hamilton both drove in four runs each.

Kane Wright earned the win on the mound.

The Lock Haven University golf team ushered in a new era when Ashley Lawson, Kylee Lobb and Kayla Mushala teed off at the PSAC Championships in Hershey for the first time in school history.

The trio of student athletes will go down in LHU Athletics history as the first ever members of the Bald Eagle golf team. In August 2018, LHU announced the addition of the women’s golf at the varsity level.

For coach Chad Anthony, who was named the first women’s golf coach in school history in March 2020, the PSAC Championships mark the first time he was able to watch his team perform in a competitive environment because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lobb shot a 132, Lawson shot a 141 and Mushala shot a 143.
