Local roundup: LHU women’s lacrosse beats Edinboro on senior day

Lock Haven took care of business on senior day as the Bald Eagles downed Edinboro, 19-1, in a PSAC Western Division showdown in women’s lacrosse.

Prior to the contest, the Lock Haven lacrosse team honored seniors Josey Shaffer, Abby Katrinak, Abby Hampson, Dana Mirigliano, Maddy Lapiana and Kelsey Schultz for their contributions and dedication to the program.

With the victory, the Bald Eagles improve to 13-3 overall and 8-3 in the PSAC East. Lock Haven is currently in third place in the Western Division and, at press time, can still slide into the second spot with help around the conference and a victory in the season finale.

The afternoon was as special as the senior class, as the Bald Eagles soared past Edinboro by scoring a game-high 19 goals and allowing just one score, coming in the final period. The Bald Eagles erupted for seven goals in the first quarter to set the tone and never looked back.
