MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – In the 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association, the spectacular duo of August Lewis and Kenedy Stroup represented the Mansfield field hockey team as the two members to earn spots on the 2024 NFHCA Division II senior team.

38 student-athletes from 21 different Division II institutions earned a spot on the 2024 NFHCA senior team.

Lewis and Stroup stood as the two captains for the Mansfield Mountaineer squad that made back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time in program history. The duo impressed the nation during their sendoff seasons, with both representing in All-Conference awards, with Stroup making the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) first team and Lewis earning a second-team nod.

Lewis stamped her name into Mansfield history after highlight season finished off an amazing career in the cage. The Delaware native reached the most career wins in program history after her 33rd against Slippery Rock to add to her collection of records.

Named the NCAA DII Defensive Player of the Week once and a two-time PSAC Defensive Player of the Week twice, Lewis led the conference in saves (108) and currently sits tied for fourth in the country in save percentage (.831).

Stroup was a force on the offensive side as the captain for the other half of the field for Mansfield. Her All-PSAC first-team bid was her second consecutive honor and the third first-team member under coach Brittany Hansrote.

The midfielder finished out her career sitting tied for fifth in program history with 18 career assists. The Millerstown native posted the 10th most shots in the PSAC with 51 on the year.

The duo helped provide another memorable year for the program, creating another historic moment for the Mounties on top of the records that they have inked their name on in the program’s records. The team finished their postseason run in the PSAC Quarterfinal with a shootout thriller against Kutztown.
