Penns Valley girls rout Mountaineers, improve to 7-5

Nine Rams scored and their defense never allowed their opponent to put up more than six points in a quarter, as the Penns Valley girls basketball team defeated Laurel Highlands foe Philipsburg-Osceola in dominant fashion, 63-22.

The win propelled the team to a 7-5 record and second straight league win, a well-rounded victory which saw it score 15 or more points in three quarters and stifle the Mountaineers defensively.

Sophomore Sydnie Dalton led the way with 14 points, going 3-of-4 from the line and hitting a trey. Jordan and Paige Johnson each added eleven, with Jordan converting a three and three-point play amidst an eight-point fourth quarter. And Ellie Romig and Elle Dinges added nine and seven points respectively.

The Rams return to action on Monday, where they’ll play Game Two of a three game road stretch against Laurel Highlands foe Clearfield on the road. That game is set for 7:30 p.m.
