On Thursday, Jersey Shore saw Ryder Fink claim the program’s first-ever District 4 singles championship as he beat Loyalsock’s Evan Anderson to do so. On Saturday, the District 4 doubles tournament began at Williamsport High School and the Bulldogs were hoping to ride that momentum from Fink to possibly reach the semifinals.

However, it didn’t work out that way for Jersey Shore.

The Bulldogs’ two doubles teams played well but didn’t advance past the second round.

Jersey Shore’s Era Paulhamus and Luke Sarge earned a first-round victory over Silas Boiywo and Lucas Bower 6-0, 6-2, to advance. The Bulldogs would run into eventual semifinalists David Toscano and Sohan Patel of Danville however in the second round.

The Blue Jays’ team proved too tough to beat as Paulhamus and Sarge fell 6-1, 6-0.

Jersey Shore’s other doubles team of Abram Paulhamus and Saul Hensler had an exciting first-round match, but lost to Central Columbia’s Ben Kehres and Junior Pauley in three sets.

Paulhamus and Hensler won the first set 7-5 and gave Kehres and Pauley a run in the following two sets, but ultimately fell 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. While they lost, the Bulldogs gave everything they had in that first-round matchup.

The District 4 doubles semifinals are scheduled for Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Central PA Tennis Center. Lewisburg’s Canyon Swartzentruber and Henry Heintzelman will face Danville’s David Sommer and Colin Sauers. In the other semifinal, Central Columbia’s Toscano and Patel will play against Lewisburg’s Will Cecchini and Alexey Rosenberg.
