Bitner and Dietz both pick up Port Royal Speedway victories

Saturday night was a good night for a couple first time winners at Port Royal, Timmy Bitner in the 305 series and Chase Dietz in the 410 sprints. Chase Dietz finally parked it in Victory lane on Saturday night and took home $5,000 for his effort
Devin Adams and Robbie Kendall had lined up on the front row of the 25-lap A-main event, and they would battle side-by-side over the opening lap with Kendall leading the opening circuit and the next three laps before Justin Whittall, who started sixth, would go past Adams to the inside to claim the runner up spot.
Whittall would start to make attempts at the top spot with just 19 laps remaining and would get by Kendall for the lead coming off of turn number four with 17 laps on the scoreboard remaining.
Adams would go by Kendall for the second spot and Chase Dietz, who had fallen back as far as eighth, had worked his way into the top 5 getting by Freddie Rahmer. Dietz had gotten by both Robbie Kendall and Michael Walter Jr. to find himself in the final podium spot and gaining ground on the top two cars.
Dietz had worked the top side of Turns 1 and 2 to get around Justin Whittall for the runner up spot and would carry that speed around turns three and four to drive to Adams' inside and take the lead away at the start finish line and then over the final nine laps he successfully navigated lapped traffic to hold on for the win, marking his first 410 sprint car win at the Port Royal Speedway. Michael Walter would take the runner up spot and Devin Adams would round out the top three.
Lance Dewease would claim the Hard Charger Award passing 13 cars for the $500 award, and Derek Hauck would win the Warrior Award after the 23 pill was drawn in victory lane giving the Allenwood driver an extra $1,000.
In USAC East Coast wingless competition, Steven Drevicki would lead all 25 laps, fending off a challenge from Steven Miller III late to claim the $1,500 winner's share.
The PA Sprint Series 305 sprint cars would run double A-main events with the 50-car field split into two 25-car A-mains.
The first A-main saw John Braim and Nick Sweigart start on the front row, but it would be Timmy Bittner who started in fourth who was able to get by both and pick up his first PA Sprint Series win of his career. In the second A-main for the 305 sprint cars, Kruz Kepner would start on the pole and lead from wire to wire to pick up the win over Logan Spahr and Kenny Heffner.
Port Royal Speedway will be back in competition on Saturday, June 7, for Super Late Model Speedweek paying $5,000 to the winner and the 410 sprint cars will also be in competition.
The NAPA All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprints return to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday for the Lynn Paxton EMMR Legends Classic.
The 30-lap All Stars main meant to honor late Williams Grove champion and racing historian Lynn Paxton of Dillsburg will pay the winner $8,000 for the victory. Then the All Stars move over to Lincoln on Saturday night. BAPS will be back in action on Sunday night.
