CM Majorettes compete at AYOP USA Twirling Championships

SOUTH BEND, IND. – Through last week, over 1,000 youth baton twirlers out of the United States and Canada competed in the 2025 AYOP USA Twirling Championships at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind. Of that group, six that participated in the event did so representing Central Mountain.
Claire Walker, Jessa Darby, Alyssa Ford, Vayda Schenck, Arrayah Haagen and Kylee Markle were the students represented the Wildcats in South Bend, not just competing but also taking home hardware in the process.
All six competed in both individual and small-group events throughout the week and came home with hardware from top-ten finishes. Two of the students placed first in their respective divisions and age classifications.
Walker and Markle took first in the World Open X-Strut (Nov. Age 14) and World Open Solo (Nov. Age 14) respectively. Haagen placed third in the X-Strut (Nov 11), Darby took eighth in Solo (Nov 14), Ford placed tenth in the X-Strut (Beg 13) and Walker took tenth in the 3-Baton (Beg 14).
In duets, Darby/Haagen took fourth (Nov 25-30), Schenck/Ford took fifth (Int 25-30) and Walker/Markle took ninth (Nov 25-30).

Not only did they participate in a largely successful baton twirling competition, in terms of both individual success and overall atmosphere, but they also established new connections and friendships with fellow twirlers from around the country, as well as toured and experienced the historical culture surrounding the storied campus.
