On Thursday, Central Mountain’s Michael Lodek posted a 76, as the golf team defeated Benton, 325-405, on the road. Other standouts include Reese Walizer on Nolan Karstetter, who golfed a 78 and 84 respectively. Rounding out the team’s scores were Blake Walker (87), Tucker Brungardt (88) and Kai Fravel (99).

In girls tennis, the Wildcats were also victorious on Thursday, sweeping singles to beat Williamsport, 4-1. Not only did they sweep singles, but each CM player also won in straight sets. Audra Eaton and Kassie Williams added a straight-set wins in doubles.

The Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team earned its first win of the season, defeating Chestnut Ridge, 2-1, behind strong defense and two second-half goals. Addie Tice gave the Eagles a lead on an assist from Savanna Albright just over ten minutes after the break. And when Chestnut Ridge responded, she put another in with five minutes to go in regulation, again on an assist from Albright.

“Just a total team victory tonight. I was very proud of them for pulling out the win after Chestnut Ridged tied it up,” said Bald Eagle Area head coach Jared Moore on the win. “We controlled possession well tonight. We created a ton of scoring chances. The defense was great tonight.”

“Addie Tice and Savanna Albright led the charge. They connected well and Savanna fed two great balls that Addie finished perfectly,” he added on Tice and Albright’s connections.

The Lock Haven women’s soccer team opened its 2025 season by edging out California (Pa.), 1-0, with Julia Taveras scored the game-winning goal.

After a scoreless 68 minutes, Taveras connected for the Bald Eagles’ first goal of the season off a helper from Maci Shaffer to put The Haven ahead, 1-0. The Bald Eagles’ defense, led by a shutout from goalkeeper Megan Miller, held the Vulcans off the scoreboard the rest of the way to secure the victory.
