No. 3 Penn State falls in 2 OT to No. 6 Oregon at home

STATE COLLEGE — Penn State quarterback Drew Allar threw a game-sealing interception in the second overtime period to allow No. 6 Oregon to beat No. 3 Penn State at Beaver Stadium at a white out, 30-24, on Saturday night.
Penn State scored in the first overtime period to force Oregon to have to score to tie it. Oregon tied it to make it 24-24 going into double overtime. Kaytron Allen scored Pen State’s touchdown in overtime from four yards out. Dante Moore then had a shovel pass to Jamari Johnson for two yards in overtime to tie it up.
Oregon got the ball to start the second overtime period and scored on its first play with a touchdown pass when Dante Moore found Gary Bryant Jr., who went 25 yards.
Penn State picked off Oregon’s two-point conversion, but Allar threw an interception on Penn State’s first play.
The Nittany Lions rallied in the final minutes to score a touchdown to tie the game at 17-17. Allar found Devonte Ross for a 7-yard touchdown with 30 seconds to play.
Moore ended the game going 29 for 39 for 248 passing yards with three passing touchdowns while Allar was 14 for 25 for 137, two touchdowns and an interception. Allen had just 54 rushing yards. Dierre Hill Jr. led the Ducks with 82 rushing yards on 10 carries.
Penn State heads to UCLA next week for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff before returning to Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 11 to host Northwestern.
