Central Mountain honors cross-country seniors at home meet

The Central Mountain cross country team celebrated its seniors at the conclusion of Tuesday night’s meet against Williamsport, Shikellamy, Selinsgrove, Jersey Shore, and South Williamsport. For the girls, Grace Keohane, Aubrey Eiler, Calienna Cardinal, Sophia Hoy, Sage Rippey and Kennedy Metzger ran their last race on their home course at LHU’s Stern Athletic Complex. For the girls, the same could be say about Damien Winner, Riley Gonzales, Jaxon Hardy and Rhys Swift. The ten seniors were recognized for their dedication to their team and the hardwork that they have put into the sport over the last four years.

In competition, the boys defeated Jersey Shore (15-50), Selinsgrove (28-31) and South Williamsport (15-50), but fell to Williamsport (42-17) and Shikellamy (43-29). The girls beat Jersey Shore (15-50), and South Williamsport (15-50), but fell the Williamsport (44-16), Selinsgrove (31-26), and Shikellamy (33-22).

Damien Winner set the pace for the boys, finishing seventh overall with a time of 17:47.30. Rounding out the top five for the Wildcats were Shane Walker (22nd, 19:00.90), Xian Deems with a new PR (24th, 19:10.50), Latrell Walker (25th, 19:13.40) and Che McAllister with a new PR (27th, 19:35.50). Also hitting new PRss for the Wildcats were Liam Darwin (21:58.30), Owen Rippey (28:01.50), and Conner Gray (28:23.90). The boys team finish the regular season with a record of 16-6.

Aubrey Eiler set the pace for the girls, finishing 11th overall in 22:19.90, setting a new PR in the process. Rounding out the top five for the Wildcats were Emma Wolfe (13th, 22:32.90), Kaylie McClosket with a new PR (16th, 23:09.10), Abigail Winslow with a new PR (18th, 23:49.00) and Calienna Cardinal (22th, 24:48.40). Also hitting new PR’s for the Wildcats were Sophia Hoy (26:27.60), Sage Rippey (28:32.70), and Kennedy Metzger (29:29.70). The girls team finished the regular season with a record of 16-6.
