Lock Haven’s Popovich named PSAC East Football Athlete of the Week

Lock Haven football wide receiver Justin Popovich was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Popovich was dynamic in the receiving game in Lock Haven’s 28-21 win over West Chester, the programs first over the Golden Rams since 1991 – snapping a 13-game losing streak.
Popovich finished with a game-high nine catches for 136 yards, including several big-time plays down the stretch to help The Haven cement the comeback.
His biggest catch came late in the fourth quarter, with a 43-yard reception, going down at the 2-yard line, setting up the game-tying touchdown.
On the next drive, Popovich had a 21-yard reception to help set up Lock Haven’s game-winning touchdown.
With the win, the Bald Eagles moved to 3-4 overall and leveled their PSAC East record at 2-2. Lock Haven has won two of the last three games and The Haven is 2-2 at home this season.
