Macri claims 15th win of year in Britton Finkenbinder Memorial
It was a chilly Saturday afternoon when Anthony Macri picked up his 15th win of the year. Macri had actually fallen back to third after starting on the outside of the front row in the 30-lap main event. If not for another caution, he might have been fourth by Lap 10. But the car came around, and the Dillsburg native surged to the front.
It didn’t take long for Macri to challenge for the top spot. Another caution slowed the pace on Lap 17, which gave Macri a clear shot to slide past Moody for the lead one lap later on Turns 1 and 2. Moody came back on him, but Macri was able to duck to the bottom off of Turn 4 to lead the 18th circuit.
With cautions piling up, a fuel stop was necessary. Brent Marks got by Moody, as did Ryan Smith on the restart. The pace was slowed for the final time on Lap 24, when Danny Dietrich lost a wheel going down the back stretch.
Macri opened up a half-second lead on the restart. Smith tip-toed past Marks for second and was able to show his nose to the leader in the corners. That culminated with a Lap 18 pass of Kyle Moody that put him out front, and Macri held off Ryan Smith late to capture the EK Services Britton Finkenbinder Memorial, claiming the victory by .477 seconds at the stripe.
In the racing for the Super Sportsman main event, Brett Perigo led the entire 40-Lap distance.
Path Valley closed out their 2025 season when Bradyn Kuhn claimed the $1000.00 purse, after 14-lap leader, Brent Shearer, developed issues on the backstretch, in the 270 Micro Sprint feature event. Kenny Yoder collected the $700.00 purse in Shippensburg, owned and operated by Tim Burkholder, in the 4 Cylinder Thunder Car feature.
The 600 Sprints were chauffeured to the green by Heath Walton and Randy Kunkle. Walton, Kunkle, Vincent Gaudiosi, Blake Ludwig and Dakota Sheaffer positioned their rides in the top five, where they remained till the finish. Walton had the fastest lap speed, traveling a whopping 81.878 MPH in 10.992 seconds.
The Modifieds race began with Sam Reeder and Mike Corbin at the helm, with Corbin taking the lead on green. Alyssa Cullum, Darin Hoover, Kirk Baker, Sam Reeder and Haley Kaiser were at the top on the re-line, with Baker and Reeder passing Hoover to claim second and third ahead of Hoover and Kaiser.
The racers held their spots till the finish with Cullum taking the win 8 laps later. Mike Corbin had the best lap speed running 73.958 MPH in 12.169 seconds.
The Late Models race began with Rodney Walls and Taylor Farlling side-by-side as Farlling moved into the first-lap lead.
The competition in the Late Models became intense as Jaxton Garman closed the gap, amidst slower traffic, passing Rodney Walls with four laps remaining and pulling by Taylor Farlling to take the lead for the final three laps.
Farlling finished second, followed by Rodney Walls, Sammy Rial, & Trent Merkle for the top five. Farlling had the best speed lap racing at 79.044 MPH in 11.386 seconds. Cayden Ranck received the Hard Charger Award, and Kenny Yoder received the Hard Luck Award.
