Ogan named PSAC West Defensive PotY; LHU men’s soccer lands 6 on team

Danny Ogan was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Defensive Player of the Year and the Lock Haven men’s soccer team landed six athletes on the All-League Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday (Nov. 12).

Ogan was also named a First Team All-PSAC Defender and was joined by Kade Black (Forward) on the First Team.

Owen Lichtenwalner (Defense), Javier Contreras Leon (Midfield), Billy Lawrence (Midfield) and Ethan Beck (Goalkeeper) were all named to the Second Team.

Ogan’s Defensive Player of the Year marks the first major award for the Bald Eagles since Sam Hershey (Athlete) in 2022.

A towering force in the backfield, Ogan anchored the Bald Eagles’ defense, which ranked near the top in the entire conference. The junior started all 19 games and led the program with 1555 minutes. Ogan was also heavily involved in the Bald Eagles’ scoring attack, where he chipped in a goal and four assists.

Black earned his second straight all-conference honor after landing on the Second Team as a sophomore. The junior was the driving force for Lock Haven’s scoring unit and finished the regular season ranked fourth in the PSAC in goals (9), tied for seventh in points (19), ninth in game-winning goals (2) and fifth in shots on goal (22). In the Bald Eagles 7-0 victory over University of Pitt-Johnstown, Black found the back of the net four times, tying a program record. Black’s record performance earned him PSAC West Offensive Player of the Week.

Ogan’s running mate on defense, Lichtenwalner, earned his first all-conference honor this season as a junior. Lichtenwalner started all 18 games he appeared in and finished second on the team with 1554 minutes.

A two-time PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week, Beck, earned his second straight Second Team selection in net, during his first two season. Beck finished with 48 saves at a .75 clip and a goalkeeping record of 7-6-4. The sophomore’s total saves ranked fourth in the PSAC, while his six shutouts ranked second.

Lawrence earned his first all-conference honor after a breakout sophomore campaign as one of the top midfielders in the division. Lawrence was the straw that stirred the drink on offense, where he finished with a team-high six assists, while also scoring twice. His six assists ranked sixth in the PSAC.

In just his freshman season, Contreras Leon was named a Second Team All-PSAC West Midfielder. Contreras Leon started all 16 games he appeared in and finished with a pair of goals. Both of the rookie’s scores helped lead the Bald Eagles to victory.

For Lock Haven, the 2025 season was another building block for the men’s soccer program, who finished the regular season 8-6-4 overall and 4-3-3 in the PSAC West, while reaching the postseason for the first time since 2021, in just its second year back in the Western Division.

The Bald Eagles went on a stretch of eight straight games without suffering a defeat.

The Haven earned the No. 3 seed in the West and traveled to the Eastern Division’s two seed West Chester and ultimately dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker in a hard-fought battle.

Starting at $3.69/week.
