Milton and Central Mountain split a swimming dual on Friday afternoon. Milton's girls swimming team beat the Wildcats, 88-80, while the Wildcat boys secured a 83-50 win.
On the girls side, it was Central Mountain junior Gabriella Hosley who led the team with two first-place finishes. Hosley swam a time of 2:23.27 to win the 200 IM, beating Milton's Rachel Goocey by five seconds, to win. In the 100 breast, Hosley won in 1:15.10, winning by nine seconds over Milton's Clara Stoudt.
Goocey was a first-place finisher in the 100 fly in 1:11.64, edging out Central Mountain senior Lily McWilliams (second, 1:17.95) and sophomore Evelyn Albright (third, 1:19.26).
In the girls 50 free, Milton's Larissa Rovenolt won in 27.08, beating out Kaylie McCloskey of Central Mountain (29.63) who took second and Milton's Claire Dick (30.68) who was a third-place finisher.
The Black Panthers took the first and second spots in the 100 free with Cohoon won in 1:03.53 and Rovenolt took third in 1:03.84. Central Mountain junior Kaylie McCLoskey took third with a finish in 1:04.82.
Central Mountain finished 1-2-3 in the girls 500 free as Erin Packer, a sophomore, won in 6:27.37 followed by senior Lily McWilliams (6:44.58) and sophomore Zoe McElroy in third (7:11.50).
Milton's Julia Stahlnecker, Goocey, Morgan Cohoon and Rovenolt won the 200 medley relay in 2:06.20. The Wildcats' foursome of Sloane Coakley, Hosley, Lily McWilliams and Kaylie McCloskey took second in 2:09.25.
Central Mountain's Kaylie McCloskey, Anna Stahl, Lily McWilliams and Gabriella Hosley won the girls 200 free relay in 1:59.69.
Milton's Cohoon, Stahlnecker, Rovenolt and Goocey won the girls 400 free relay in 4:15.07, beating out Central Mountain's Zaylie Warren, Stahl, Evelyn Albright and Sloane Coakley, who took second in 4:34.03.
Milton's Mason Cohoon won the 200 IM with a time of 2:23.13 by five seconds over Central Mountain senior Rhys Swift (2:28.08). Milton's Nolan Scheller won the 50 free in 22.45 while Central Mountain's Christian Briggs took second in 25.84 and Central Mountain's Jacob Rembold took third in 27.25.
Milton's Nolan Scheller won the 100 fly with a time of 56.02, breaking the minute mark. In the 100 free, the Wildcats' Andrew Leinbach won in 1:00.89 while Raiden Newcomer took second in 1:01.33 and Central Mountain's Neil Kaluzny was third in 1:01.56.
Central Mountain saw Holden Long swim a 6:03.37 in the boys 500 free. In the 100 back, Central Mountain finished with the top 3 spots as freshman Briggs won in 1:02.72 followed by senior Rhys Swift (1:11.67) and junior Jacob Rembold (1:13.28).
Central Mountain's boys 200 medley relay team of Christian Briggs, Che McAllister, Rhys Swift and Neil Kaluzny took first in 1:58.54. In the boys 200 free relay, Milton's foursome of Mason Cohoon, Logan Irwin, Andrew Leinbach and Nolan Scheller swam a 1:46.81 to win.
Central Mountain also won the 400 free relay in boys competition as Long, Briggs, Rembold and McAllister swam a time of 4:12.54.
Muncy independent swimmer Logan Diehl swam a time of 1:58.09 in the boys 200 free, a time which would have been good enough for first by nearly 14 seconds. Diehl also swam in the 100 breast and swam a 1:08.00, another time which would have been good enough for first in the event.
Hughesville's Sydney Siperko competed in the 50 free and swam a 32.32 while Hughesville's Sophie Yoder swam a 36.65 in the event. Evelyn Meckbach swam a 6:37.49 in the 500 free. In the 100 breast, Hughesville's Ashlyn Barlett swam a 1:16.30.
Hughesville's Luke Siperko swam a 1:00.06 in the 100 free and in the 100 back, swam a time of 1:14.31.
Independent swimmers' times do not count toward top finishes in duals, tri-meets or invitationals, but count for qualifying for districts and district seeding.
