CM’s Aiden Kunes records 100th win at Ultimate Warrior Tournament

Central Mountain's Aiden Kunes recorded his 100th career victory on Friday at the Ultimate Warrior Tournament at West Branch. Kunes, who is committed to the US Air Force Academy, was seeded No. 1 at 145 pounds and had a 49-second fall over River Valley's Oskar Olsen in the first round for the 100th victory and added three more wins. Kunes pinned Reynolds' Emmett Floch in 1:08, Juniata's Ty Fahnestock in 1:40 and defeated Brandon Furgeson of Port Allegany by tech fall, 18-1, 2:30.
The wins put Kunes into the semifinals at 145 and he'll face Bald Eagle Area's Dawson Lomison in Saturday's semifinals.
Kunes is one of three Wildcats to reach the semifinals at the tournament.
Gain Heverly is into the 127 semifinals and Patrick Tarantella is into the 133 semifinals.
Heverly defeated Port Allegeny's Collin Ferguson in the championship quarterfinals by decision, 8-5, and faces Muncy's Gage Swank in Saturday's semifinals. Heverly earned a 7-3 decision vs. Stroudsburg's Chase Fetherman, an 18-1, 3:34 tech fall over Mount Union's Jacob Morgan and a 19-3, 5:17 tech against Philipsburg-Osceola's Devin Long.
Tarantella majored Ace Foster of Philipsburg-Osceola in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinals. In the first round, Tarentella pinned Bald Eagle Area's Logan BUrns in 1:21 and then pinned Juniata's Easton Matthews in 2:50.
Collin Bauman (121), Hayes Donley (139) and Mario Serafini (172) fell into the consolations.
Bald Eagle Area has a trio of semifinalists as well. Lomison (145), Caden Judice (152) and Tanner Guenot (139) are all into the semifinals at their respective weights.
Lomison had a first-round 15-0, 1:44 tech fall against Westmont Hilltop's Aries Myers, earned a 20-0, 4:11 tech fall vs. Hughesville's Borgan Sherwood and then a 19-3, 4:12 tech fall against Port Allegeny's Cole Lobb. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Philipsburg-Osceola's Averi Gable in 3:03
Judice opened the tournament with an 18-1, 2:21 tech fall over Marion Center's Josh Schleicher and beat Richmond's Chase Goldcamp via fall in just 11 seconds. In the Round of 16, Judice pinned Hughesville's Landen Puderbach in 4:26 and picked up a 13-1 major over Samson Deeb of DuBois.
At 139, Guenot had two pins and two major decisions to reach the semifinals where he'll face Hickory's Brody Bishop. Guenot majored Ryan Vance of Garnet Valley, 14-6, and picked up a 43-second pin against Cam Coudriet of Penn Cambria in the second round. In the third round, Guenot pinned Stroudsburg's Noah Sipple in 2:37 and majored Reynolds' Hudson Wolbert in the quarterfinals.
