LOCK HAVEN -- After his record-breaking weight throw on Saturday, Eric Zalar of the Lock Haven men's track and field team was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced.
Zalar's award marks the second straight PSAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor for Lock Haven.
The Bald Eagles competed at the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell on Saturday, where Eric Zalar who was named the Field Athlete of the Meet, after breaking a program and PSAC record in the weight throw.
With a mark of 67 feet, 2 inches, Zalar broke the previous PSAC indoor record of 66-3 3/4 from 2010 and Lock Haven’s previous record of 61-8 1/2 set by Mark Manno in 2013.
Zalar won the event and now sits fifth in the nation in the weight throw for his efforts.
