Shore boys use strong first to roll past Norry Christian

On Monday night against Northumberland Christian, the Jersey Shore boys basketball team hit the ground running and never looked back, outscoring the Warriors 21-2 through the first quarter en route to a 49-20 victory. That quarter saw six Bulldogs score, with Landon Lathan leading the charge with eight of the 21.

Lathan finished with a team-leading 11 points to finish as the team’s only double-figure scoring. Mazden Lupton fell just one point and rebound short of a double-double, posting three assists alongside his nine points and nine rebounds. And Tucker Hanna added seven, as nine Shore players scored.

With the win, Jersey Shore improved to 5-3 on the season. It’ll look to carry the momentum gained from back-to-back victories in a rivalry matchup against Central Mountain (2-6), with that game set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at Jersey Shore.
