Sugar Valley was one and done at the Mid-Penn Championships at South Williamsport on Wednesday night. The Phoenix lost in the quarterfinals to South Williamsport, 56-8. Montgomery won the tournament by beating South Williamsport, 54-10.

In the semifinals, Montgomery beat Benton, 73-0, and South Williamsport defeated Muncy, 41-32.

Sugar Valley’s Tobias Conoway earned a fall at 3:01 at 121 pounds against Wes Hamman to give the Phoenix six team points. A bout later at 127, Hunter Baney outworked Taylor Naugle in a tough battle for a narrow 7-6 victory.

South Williamsport would pull away in the dual with two tech falls and two pins between 133 and 152 as Jackson Bower and Jonah Caputo had tech fall wins at 133 and 139, respectively, vs. Gabe Standish (15-0, 2:00) and Wyatt Conoway (22-4, 4:40).

Sugar Valley’s Landon Pletcher was pinned at 145 against Louis Mazzullo in 2:10 and at 152, Garrett Lorson of the Mounties pinned Daedreynn Hopkins in 39 seconds.

Sugar Valley’s Ethan Bartenope battled at 160 against Cade Lusk, but fell by major decision, 16-6, as he tried to put up points.

Eli White of South Williamsport won at 172 by pinning Sugar Valley’s Logan Leland in 4:39.

The bouts from 189-107 were all forfeit wins for South Williamsport and 114 was a double forfeit.
