Montgomery used a 23-point second quarter to pull away from Bucktail and never let the Bucks rally in a 63-46 boys basketball win on Friday night.

Montgomery saw four players score in double figures in James Godley (20), Parker Bennett (17), Demaj Stewart-Williams (12) and Jace Hanford (12). Gavin Pick had 16 points for Bucktail and was the Bucks’ lone double-digit scorer. Both Corbin Pentz and Aidan Ditty added eight.

• Talia Ross struck out 10 hitters to lead the Lock Haven softball team to a 3-0 victory over Wilmington (Del.) in a non-conference game to kick off the 2026 season on Friday morning. The Bald Eagles split the doubleheader, with Wilmington taking game two 10-0.

The doubleheader was hosted in the Adventure Crossing USA Dome in Jackson Township, N.J. with Wilmington (Del.) as the host school.

Pitching and timely hitting led the Bald Eagles to victory in their opener as they wrap up opening weekend 1-1.

In the opener, the Bald Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the second inning after Madison Harvy doubled down the left field line to plate Gianna Goodman.

Harvy extended the Bald Eagles lead to 2-0 after hitting into a fielder’s choice, which led to a mishap at first base to allow Hailey Irwin to come all the way around to scored from second base to make it 2-0.

• Lock Haven head field hockey coach Anna Rogers has announced her resignation from Lock Haven. Rogers, who has been the coach at Lock Haven for the last three season (2023-25), has been named the new coach at Long Island University.

When Rogers was named the Bald Eagles’ new head coach in August 2023, she became just the fourth head coach since the program’s founding in 1945. Prior to her time as Lock Haven’s head coach, she was an assistant coach with the program for seven seasons (2016-22).

A national search for Lock Haven’s next head field hockey coach is forthcoming.
