Robinson leads LHU women’s hoops to tenth straight win over Mansfield

MANSFIELD – Alana Robinson’s career-high 31 points led the Lock Haven Women’s Basketball team to a 75-55 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory at Mansfield.

The Bald Eagles maintained their momentum on Wednesday night and improved to 16-5 overall and 12-3 in the PSAC. Lock Haven is now 10-0 vs. PSAC Eastern Division opponents.

Mansfield fell to 2-20 on the season and 0-15 in PSAC play.

After a slow start, Lock Haven found itself trailing 34-31 at the half. Some halftime adjustments were made and the Bald Eagles quickly pulled away, outscoring the Mountaineers 44-21 the rest of the way to earn their 10th straight victory.

Robinson earned her scoring career-high by shooting 12-19 from the floor and 7-11 from the free-throw line. She also added seven rebounds to her impressive performance.

Madeline Evans recorded her 17th double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Evans was efficient from the field, shooting 6-8 on the night.

Rhlyn Rouse also scored 14 points on 5-8 shooting. Rouse controlled the paint with nine rebounds and two blocks.

Jenadia Jordan impressed on defense once again with three blocks and two steals. The PSAC’s leader in assists (5.6 per game) added four more to her season total.

Lock Haven finished the game 28-55 (51%) and 17-25 (68%) from the free-throw line.

The Bald Eagles controlled the paint with 42 points inside and earned 18 points from 11 Mansfield turnovers.

Lock Haven will return to Thomas Fieldhouse to face second-place Kutztown in an important PSAC Eastern Division matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m.
