WINGATE – With a simple pop of the starter pistol, the 2026 outdoor track and field season officially kicked off for Bellefonte, Bald Eagle and Clearfield on Tuesday afternoon at Bald Eagle’s Alumni Stadium.

Competing with mild weather conditions, the weather was complementary for the athletes on the day. The day belonged to both the Bellefonte boys and girls, as they took three-out-of-four.

“We are very proud of them. When we come into early season meets the weather doesn’t play out right,” said Bellefonte head coach Seth Miller. “Today, we wanted to shake the rust off and that’s what we did. I’m proud of them for showing up and competing.”

“We’re small but mighty,” said first-year Bald Eagle Area head coach Kaleigh Cunningham. “We don’t have as many kids as last season but we have a great group here. They are all very hard workers.”
