Jersey Shore has seven athletes reach district qualifying standards in tri-meet
Jersey Shore hosted a tri-meet with Montgomery and South Williamsport and had a ton of success in both the girls and boys competition. On the girls side, the Bulldogs (104) beat Montgomery (55) and the Mounties (29) convincingly. On the boys side, Jersey Shore (102) swept Montgomery (41) and South Williamsport (27)
Jersey Shore saw a number of athletes hit district qualifying marks/times in their first meet of the year and had a number of PRs as well.
“Having seven district qualifiers and several PRs is a great way to start our season,” Jersey Shore coach Scott Kendall said.
Kathleen Loomis won the girls 400 with a time of 1:04.10, winning by 11 seconds, and hitting a district qualifying PR. She also was part of the Bulldogs’ 1,600 relay team whcih won in 4:26.10.
Elliana Herr won the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 4 1/4 inches and took second in the 100 in 13.90, behind only teammate Marle Lehman’s 13.80. Herr’s long jump was a district qualifying PR.
Elizabeth Hollick won the high jump with a district qualifying PR of 5-0. The freshman was also a first-place finisher in the 800 with a time of 2:23.70 and was part of both the 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams which won.
Jersey Shore saw Aaralynn Kimble win the 200 and 300 hurdles with times of 26.80 and 49.00, respectively. Both times were district qualifying marks. Kimble was part of the 1,600 relay team as well.
South Williamsport’s Kendall Smith ran a time of 13.31.40 to win the 3,200, winning by more than three minutes. She also won the 1,600 in 5:52.80, winning that event by 16 seconds.
Montgomery’s Rihanna Arrendondo won th triple jump ith a height of 30-8 1/4 and the Red Raiders’ 400 relay team won in 54.70 seconds. Selah Persing of Montgomery ran a 17.60 to win the 100 hurdles over teammate Eva Nagel (18.70).
On the boys side, Jersey Shore’s Khani McCray took second in the high jump and hit a district qualifying PR with a height of 5-10. Montgomery’s Jace Hanford cleared 6-0 to win the event. McCray won both the long jumps (19-1 1/4) and triple jumps (38-11).
Connor Winters, a first-year track athlete who is a sophomore, took first in the 100 by running a time of 12.20 and was part of Jersey SHore’s boys 400 and 1,600 relay teams which won.
South Williamsprot’s Kyree Moy ran a time of 18.40 to win the 110 hurdles and South Williamsport’s Spencer Beatty won the 1,600 in 5:00.20, just edging out teammate Adam Kuriga in a tight race by 0.10 seconds.
Montgomery’s Camden Dalrymple won the 300 hurdles with a time fo 46.90 and Montgomery’s John Shrimp won the 800 in 2:10.60. South Williamsprot’s Adam Kuriga won the 3,200 with a time of 11:08.50. Montgomery saw Porter Hall win the javelin with a throw of 151-6. South Williamsport’s Jack Fortin was second (150-8).
