The Lock Haven men's track and field team opened the outdoor season this weekend at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Bald Eagles earned nine Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship qualifying marks.
Myka Simmons ran 10.74m in 100 meter prelims and qualified for the 2026 PSAC Championships. The time is the third fastest in Lock Haven history. Simmons also impressed in the 200m by finishing in 21.38. The time is the second fastest in Lock Haven event history and a PSAC qualifier.
Montoursville graduate Josiah Schans took second in the 110 hurdles and earned a PSAC qualifier by finishing in a blazing time of 14.20.
Jersey Shore graduate Peter Bellomo and Carter Young both earned PSAC qualifiers in the Javelin Throw. Bellomo reached 192 feet, 2 inches and Young reached 189-3 . The duo finished sixth and seventh respectively.
Matt Reinard sped through the 400 hurdles by finishing in 54.65. Reinard earned third place and a PSAC qualifying time. Schans also earned a PSAC qualifier in the event by finishing in 56.27.
Anden Aitkins punched his ticket to the PSAC Championship in the 800m by finishing in 1:53.80 and took sixth place.
Freshman Brayden Frair earned a PSAC qualifier in his first 3,000 steeplechase. Frair finished in 9:43.66 and placed fourth.
On the women’s side, the Bald Eagles earned six PSAC Championship qualifying marks.
Defending PSAC Champion in the 800 Nicole Caroll earned her way back to the event by finishing in 2:17.39.
Three Bald Eagles qualified in the Javelin Throw. Olivia Spotts earned third place by reaching a mark of 136-10. Ava Komorowski finished sixth with a mark of 132-10 and Maria Puglia took eighth (128-09).
Clarissa Davis earned a PSAC Qualifier in the shot put with a mark of 40-9 3/4.
The 800 relay team of Lillian Bradley, Alexanne Fite, Makayla Grace Weber and Williamsport graduate Elizabeth Shultz finished the race in 1:46.19, marking the second fastest time in Lock Haven program history.
Weber earned a PSAC qualifier in the 400 hurdles by finishing in 1:05.07 and took sixth.
Shultz and Fite came extremely close to reaching the PSAC qualifying mark of 59.40 in the 400m. Shultz finished in 59.84 and Fite finished in 59.90.
