Central Mountain’s track and field athletes saw success in a number of different events, but the Wildcats were swept by Shamokin in a dual meet on Tuesday.

The Shamokin girls beat Central Mountain, 93-57, while the Shamokin boys won, 99-51.

Central Mountain’s Grace Koehane claimed a victory in the 800 with a time of 2:32.87, winning the event by almost 20 seconds over Shamokin’s Madison Anderson. In the 1,600, the Wildcats claimed a victory when Cora Svec ran a 6:10.49 to win by nine seconds.

Central Mountain’s Emma Wolfe ran a time of 15:13.81 to take home a second-place finish in the 3,200.

The Wildcats went 1-2 in the 100 hurdles as Macia Owens won in 15.75 followed by teammate Sarah Hall in 16.70. Hall would win the 300 hurdles event with a time of 50.40, winning the event by just 0.36 seconds over Shamokin’s Taylor Stoshack.

The Central Mountain 1,600 relay team of Keohane, Lane Walker, Hall and Vivian Wilt won in 4:30.48 and the Wildcats’ 3,200 relay team of Svec, Lucy Walker, Wolfe and Keohane ran a time of 11:09.15 to claim a victory.

Central Mountain’s Zaylie Warren took second in the high jump after clearing 4-4, just two inches from winner Gabby Jacoby’s 4-6 of Shamokin. Harper Conklin of Central Mountain cleared 7-0 to take second in the pole vault and Sophia Hoy was a second-place finisher for Central Mountain in the long jump (14-10 1/2). Central Mountain’s Morgan Davis took third in the shot put with a throw of 24-4 1/2. Davis also took third in the discus with a throw of 77-0.

Lane Walker of Central Mountain took second in the javelin with a throw of 83-0 1/2 as Shamokin’s Lyla Aleman won with a throw of 91-9 1/2.

Central Mountain went 1-2-3 in the 400 on the boys side as Wyatt Heeman won in 53.68 followed by Shayden Hill (53.87) and Brody Rhine (55.15). Hill was also a third-place finisher in the 200 in 23.55.

Central Mountain’s Damien Winner won the 3,200 with a time of 11:52.54 as teammate Will Stout was second in 13:33.22. Winner also ran a 5:02.29 to take second in the 1,600 and Che McAllister of the Wildcats was third in the 800 in 2:22.35.

Jacob Nyman took two second-place finishes for Central Mountain. He ran a time of 18.79 to take second in the 110 hurdles behind Shamokins’ Greycen Boughner (18.26) and was behind Boughner in the 300 hurdles (45.82) as Nyman ran a time of 46.99.

The Central Mountain boys 1,600 relay team ran a time of 3:40.87 to win by nearly 17 seconds with the team of Shayden Hill, Brody Rhine, Ricky Rohrbach and Wyatt Heeman.

Central Mountain’s Brayden Bird had a throw of 114-9 1/2 in the discus to win as teammate Josiah Allert took second with a distance of 111-7. In the javelin, Central Mountain earned a win as Ethan Shetler threw 129-6.
