Bellefonte beat Tyrone, 3-1, in a close game in softball competition on Monday.
The Red Raiders and Tyrone were tied 1-1 after three innings before Bellefonte took the lead with a run in the top of the fourth. Bellefonte then scored its final run in the seventh.
Adrienne Masullo threw five innings for the Red Raiders, limiting Tyrone to one run, with seven strikeouts and four walks allowed. Abby Herr threw the final two innings and struck out five with two singles allowed.
Masullo went 2 for 3 with a run scored while Ella Herr was 2 for 3 with a triple and run scored.
• Greyson Confair homered and Hayden Kelley, Nate Moore and Tucker Hanna combined on a two-hitter as Jersey Shore thumped Shamokin, 13-2 in five innings. Nolen Pauling had two hits and four runs, while Carter Rhinehart went 2 for 3 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs.
Colton Cimini hit a two-run double and Carson Watkins and Conner Yingling both had hits and RBIs for the Bulldogs (4-2).
