Lock Haven softball ranked No. 6 in second edition of Atlantic Region rankings
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven softball team is ranked sixth in the second edition Of the 2026 NCAA Atlantic Region rankings, the organization released on Wednesday.
This is the second of three editions of the regional rankings before the announcement of the tournament field, which is set for Monday, May 11.
Four of the top six regionally ranked teams are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division: No. 1 Shippensburg, No. 2 East Stroudsburg, No. 3 Kutztown and No. 6 Lock Haven.
Following the completion of the regular season and conference tournaments, eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the 2026 NCAA Division II Softball Championships.
The Atlantic Region Championships will feature three automatic qualifiers – the tournament champions from the PSAC, MEC and CIAA – and five at-large selections.
The Bald Eagles are currently 28-20 overall and 16-14 in the PSAC East, which currently places them as the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Division. Five teams will qualify for the PSAC Championship tournament in Binghamton next week (May 6-9) and there are seven teams fighting for the final two playoff spots.
Lock Haven holds a one game lead in the win column over Bloomsburg and Shepherd (15-13) and two games over West Chester (14-14) heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
The Bald Eagles wrap up the 2026 regular season on Friday, May 1 at home and will host the Atlantic Region No. 1 Shippensburg in a PSAC East doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. on Senior Day.
