Mark Smith picked up win at Selinsgrove over Chase Dietz
It’s been a challenging start for central Pennsylvania racing between the cold and the rain and last weekend was no exception. Selinsgrove was the best choice for sprint cars to get their race in.
Mark Smith picked up his first win of the year over a fast closing Chase Dietz as Dietz settled for second, followed by Austin Bishop, Ryan Taylor and Jody Lehman.
In limited late model action, Lane Snook claimed victory followed by Ryan Zook, Daulton Bigler, Shaun Miller and George Dixon. Street stocks were finished in order by Troy Miller, Brad Mitch, Jasen Geesaman, Brandon Moser and Tommy Dawson.
At Williams Grove the spring sprint special was rained out midway through the event on Friday night. The final lap of the second of three heats for the 410 sprint cars was underway when rains hit the track.
Car counts for the special three division open wheel show saw 26 cars entered in the 410 sprint division while 18 PASS 305 sprints were in action and 13 wingless super sportsman signed in. Prior to the rains twin heats for the 305 sprints went to Logan Spahr and Cole Dewease.
Brent Shearer won the first heat for the 410 sprint cars and TJ Stutts was headed to the checkers in heat two when rain began. Rainchecks for the April 24 program will be honored in coming weeks.
The speedway will be in action on Friday with a World of Outlaws tune-up race for the 410 sprints and the third show of the season for the 358 sprint cars.
At Clinton County, Jacob Gomola was victorious on Friday at in the RaceSaver sprint division at the Speedway. Other winners included Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven in the 270 micro sprints, AJ Hoffman in the pro stocks, Matt Weaver in the four cylinders and Landon Benner in the junior sprints.
Hidden Valley Speedway kicked off the 2026 season on Friday night with several drivers not making it due to not being ready yet.
Feature winners on opening night included Justin Owens (semi lates), Jimmy Holden (small block modifieds), Brandon Connor (Penn Ohio pro stocks), Josh Fields (pure stocks) and Scott Robison (four cylinders).
This coming week is the opener for regular points for the semi lates, small block modifieds, Penn Ohio pro stocks, pure stocks and four cylinders pulse the rear wheel drive thundercars will be in action
Coming up on May 22 is the annual Shawn McGarvey Memorial for the super late models, paying $3,000 to win and $300 to start along with a regular program for our regular classes and the first spectator race of the season and a late-model King of the Hill.
The rest of the weekend racing was rained out.
Racing continues this weekend with a PA posse 410 show at Williams Grove Speedway Friday. Port Royal Speedway and Lincoln Speedway are both racing Saturday with BAPS Motor Speedway running Sunday.
All three shows are Keystone King races. Chase Dietz leads the PA Posse 410 points and the Keystone King points.
