SELINSGROVE — Jersey Shore had a number of athletes competing on Saturday at the Dan Wilhour Classic in Selinsgrove in track and field on Saturday and take home a top-10 finish.

The Bulldogs’ top finisher came from freshman Elizabeth Hollick. The Bulldog ran a time of 16.65 to take home a second-place finish int he 100 hurdles, trailing only Selinsgrove junior Mikayla Martin, who ran a 15.41 to win.

Jersey Shore sophomore Aaralynn Kimble ran a time of 26.83 to take fifth in the 200. She was behind only Shikellamy’s Jilly Deivert (25.54), Warrior Run’s Natalie Hall (26.10), Selinsgrove’s Gigi Beach (26.26) and Mifflinburg’s Makenna Fogle (26.64). Kimble also was a fourth-place finisher in the 400 with a time of 59.35. Veach won in 57.85 followed by Hughesville’s Katelyn Temple (57.89) and Warrior Run’s Natalie Hall (58.01).

Another freshman who had a solid performance was Elizabeth Hollick. The freshman took second in the 300 hurdles competition with a time of 47.65. She was behind only Hughesville senior Kylie Temple, the defending PIAA Class AA state champion in the 300 hurdles, who ran a 45.85. Kimble ran a time of 49.41 to take eighth in the event. Hollick took another top-5 finish home as she took fifth in the high jump competition. Hollick cleared 4 feet, 10 inches for fifth, tying Hannah Fourspring of Mount Carmel. Hughesville’s Casey Schultz, another freshman, won with a height of 5-0.

Alison Bilbay, a senior, took ninth in the discus competition with a throw of 98 feet, 6 inches. Selinsgrrove’s Isabella Furgison won with a throw of 130-7. Bella Hensler just missed making the top-10 in the javelin with a throw of 95-4 for 11th.

Lucy Engel tied for 10th in the pole vault with a height of 7-6. Shikellamy’s Sarah Bronowicz, a junior, won after clearing 10-6. 

Jersey Shore saw Nina Steppe, a senior, throw 32-4 in the shot put competition to finish in 10th place. Furgison of Selinsgrove won with a throw of 48-4 3/4.

Khani McCray, a junior, tied for ninth in the boys high jump when he cleared 5-6. He was the only boys cmpetitor  from Shore to take tenth or better on Saturday.
