BELLEFONTE – With the season winding down to its last two weeks, the Bellefonte softball team found itself battling for positioning in the upcoming District 6 post season.

With a 4-0 win yesterday against Clearfield, the Lady Raiders looked to make it consecutive wins as it welcomed in Bishop Carroll. The night belonged to Bellefonte as it defeated the Huskies 10-0 in five innings.

“They’ve been putting in a lot of hard work as they get towards the end of the season,” said Bellefonte manager Erica DeVinney. “It was definitely a good game to have before we wrap up the regular season.”

Bellefonte’s Abby Herr started for the Lady Raiders. Bishop Carroll retaliated with hurler Hannah Stuttmatter.

In the first inning, Bellefonte was the first to score, posting three runs in the bottom half of the inning.

TIM WEIGHT/For the Express Bellefonte's Sloan Moore steals second during a high school softball game against Bishop Carroll on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at O'Leary Field. The Red Raiders won 10-0 in five innings.

Leadoff hitter Sloan Moore singled into left before stealing second. Teammate Riley Santostefano joined her on the base paths as she was hit by a Huskies offering.

Both moved up a base on a wild pitch. Both then scored on a Bishop Carroll error, making it a 2-0 advantage as Adrienne Masullo hustled out an inerrant throw. She would later score the team’s third run to end the first inning.

Herr looked strong on the mound as well as she tallied four strikeouts in the first two innings, allowing only one hit.

It was deja vu in the second as the top three batters of Bellefonte’s line up would again battle their way across the base paths.

Moore hit her second hit to third. Santostefano walked. Masullo brought in one. Peyton Rimmey reached on an error as both Santostefano and Masullo both scored, making it a 6-0 advantage going into the third.
