Jersey Shore’s Carson Watkins was recently selected to play in the PSFCA East-West Large School game held on May 17 at Cumberland Valley High School. Watkins was the only District 4 selection for the teams representing Classes AAAA through 6A.

Landen Murray of Mifflinburg and Kingston Fisher of Montoursville were selected to the Small School (Classes A through AAA).

The 6-feet, 3-inch Bulldog was selected as defensive back and was able to stimy the East receivers by not allowing a completion thrown his way.

“It was fun to get back on the field and play against some of the best in the state,” said Watkins. “There are so many D-1 and D-2 players out here and it is an honor to just be out here with them.”

Shore’s tough cornerback received was also selected to both PA Coach’s and Sports Writer’s Class AAAA all-state team honors, as well as being named to the 2025 WNEP-TV Super 16 Dream Team. He was honored to have Jersey Shore coach Tom Gravish on the West sidelines cheering the Bulldog on.

“Coach Gravish has always taught us to work harder and push ourselves. That’s Jersey Shore football. Thanks to him and our program, I am playing here today,” added Watkins.

The first PSFCA East West game was held in June of 2001 at Mansion Park in Altoona, after members of the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association approached the Allegheny Mountains Convention and Visitors Bureau to help organize and produce a sister game to the Big 33 Game. The Big 33 Game features the top players in the state against players from Maryland.

Unfortunately, only 34 players can be selected to represent Pennsylvania and in a state with a rich football tradition many quality players are left out. Thus the PSFCA East-West All Star Game was conceived giving the honor to play in a statewide, prestigious all star game to 68 more players.
